Dragon Valley: Rise of Corundia

2 to 4 Players

120 Minutes

Ages: 13+

Times are dire here around Dragon Valley. We're fighting off waves of orc armies, goblin war machines and even the flying lizards themselves. For now the mountain pass remains secure but our scouts have reported large gatherings in the valley and we're expecting a full scale assault before the season's end. If that wasn't enough to worry about, our neighbors are also preparing for war and petitioning the king for his troops and supplies which are already spread thin. It seems you'll not only be fighting a war of steel, but one of words as well.

In Dragon Valley, players take turns dividing items such as knights and archers, building materials for blacksmith shops and towers, special powers and even attackers. The attackers consist of dragons, orcs and battering rams that emerge from mountain passes into each player's lands. After dividing, other players select the group of items they prefer and leave the remainder with the player who did the dividing. After that, players use special cards to interfere with each others plans. The last step each round is for players to setup defenses, destroy the attackers or laying siege on the orc strongholds scattered throughout Dragon Valley.

Stand-alone Expansion:
Dragon Valley Tourneys

2 Players, 5 Minutes, Ages: 13+

These mini-games can be used as filler games or during a game of Dragon Valley: Rise of Corundia of 3 or 4 players while two players are waiting for the division of King's Aid. Purple cubes and/or Unit cubes from the Unit bag are used to keep track of game play aspects in Dragon Valley Tourneys.

Players start with Jousting. If finished before the other player(s) have completed the dividing in Dragon Valley: Rise of Corundia, they move on to Archery. If there is still time, they move to the Trebuchet Tourney and afterwards back again to Jousting. If the dividing is complete, finish any score checks but do not continue. If a scoring criteria was not met, no player gains score in Dragon Valley: Rise of Corundia from the current tourney. They do keep the score earned in previous tourneys during this division. Make sure to return any purple cubes to the board and units back into the cloth bag. The next division starts with the next mini-game.

If players are not comfortable playing traditional Rock Parchment Swords, an alternate is to pull Blue, Red and Yellow cubes from the bag and secretly selecting one (if enough are there, otherwise use cubes from the board, but remember where they came from.)
